So, I like photography, I think its highly addictive, but highly expensive hobby if you get in to it. I have wanted a DSLR camera for a fair old while but couldn’t really justify it to myself. When we booked our honeymoon (now that’s another story right there) I found it the perfect reason to go out and buy.
After much deliberation I opted to buy the Nikon D40. It came with the standard kit lens a 18-55. I bought an additional 10-20mm sigma from eBay and also a 50mm prime lens which is only a manual focus on the D40.
I followed a bunch of online guides [mostly the one by Ken Rockwell] which taught me to get the most out of the settings on the camera.
I love taking pics with the 50mm as it teaches you everything you need in order to take good pictures.
As I learn more and I take more ‘good’ pictures I’ll post here and keep you informed.
