Hi all, for a while it was bugging me when people post links to images in the forum.
It meant i had to open a new browser or tab etc. So I did a little poking around and found greasemonkey and set about writing a little dinky that when it sees a link to an image (jpg, jpeg, png, bmp) it will automagically insert the image instead of just the link. Sothe bbcode

gets converted to the actaul image, inline…in the post.
I know there are other scripts to easier link flickr images but for images hosted on your own site it means you can just use the ‘insert link’ button and paste the url of your image.
I have also made this in to a firefox extension
So far it only works on pages following the path: http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/* if it needs to work on other paths, let me know
